Young Allen was born in South Korea and currently resides in Metairie, Louisiana. Young's journey with watercolor started when she began attending watercolor classes at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Art (NOAFA) as well as private instruction with local artists Pio Lyons and Larisa Clevenger. She then further studied the medium with national and internationally acclaimed artists such as Alvaro Castagnet, Charles Reid, Mary Whyte and Fabio Cembranelli. Young is continuing her study of portrait and figure drawing with Carol Peebles at the Blue Easel Club in New Orleans. Young's work has been accepted into various national and international level watercolor-juried competitions.

  • May 2014 - LWS 44th Annual International Exhibit. Submission was one of 70 chosen out of over 500 submissions.

  • March 2014 - 14 of her paintings were exhibited at Ochsner Medical Center (main campus)

Young has also received several drawing awards and watercolor awards from N.O. Academy of Fine Arts.

During the Spring and Summer, weather permitting, Young will be displaying her artwork for purchase at Jackson Square in the French Quarter.
